RENO, NV, May 27, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Geraldine Adams has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
An accomplished industry professional with years of varied professional experience, Ms. Adams began her career as a telephone operator for Ma Bell in Massachusetts. She then went to work at a nursing facility as a nurses' aide for 2 years but as her children were small, it was difficult to find a babysitter and she had to remain home to care for them. Ms. Adams really enjoyed taking care of patients and on her days off, she would sometimes bring her youngest son to visit them. Her first employment when she moved back from Massachusetts was in a machine shop, Robin Manufacturing, Inc., where she started as a receptionist and worked up to office manager for twelve years. It was here that learned the intricacies of accounting, purchasing, sales and management. Her employer was not only her boss but a friend she has to this day. He taught her about people and life as she was young. When he sold his company and semi-retired, Ms. Adams was offered a position by the buyers. She worked at PMI for four years and then worked for Saturn Machine as their buyer for 3 years. She was also employed by a few other companies in the aerospace arena and was offered a position at A&R Industrial Supply. She was involved with the owner years prior and they married. She and her late husband ran the company together until his demise and she continued to run it with the help of her youngest son until an industry down-turn led to its sale. Ms. Adams next worked at Mr. Copy, under Xerox, as their purchasing manager for 2 years. Next, she was hired by Phamatech Pharmaceuticals. She scheduled pick-ups from various jails and prisons for drug testing and also was involved in purchasing. Shortly thereafter her mother grew ill and she moved to Reno, NV. In 2013, she graduated from Intercontinental University in Chicago IL and received her AA Degree, graduating with Honors. She then worked in contract employment until she started at Arvato, a sub-contractor for Microsoft in 2017. Infosys bought Arvato and in October 2020, and she was transitioned along with other selected agents to Cognizant, where she is still employed. Here she excels as a document specialist, comparing documents against the system.
Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is incredibly proud of owning and operating A&R Industrial Supply to honor her husband's legacy of 18 years. Within the coming years, Ms. Adams intends to semi-retire and dedicate her attention to the community. Her greatest achievement is her three amazing sons. They have been her strength and her drive and have given her the greatest joy in her life.
