Dr. Raue has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the fields of electrical engineering and higher education

RANCHOS PALOS VERDES, CA, May 31, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jorg E. Raue, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Raue celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Raue has enjoyed a distinguished career in electrical engineering, academia and consulting for nearly six decades. After retiring from the field in 1993, he began working as a technical consultant. Elected as a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Dr. Raue is also a member of the organization's Microwave Society, where he served as the secretary and on the administrative committee from 1985 to 1990. Likewise, he has earned distinction as a member of the honor society of Sigma Xi.

For much of his career, Dr. Raue was employed with TRW Electronic Systems in Redondo Beach, California. Hired as a research engineer in 1969, he was subsequently promoted as a department manager, senior research scientist and advanced systems manager. Mainly involved in the aerospace, automotive and credit reporting sectors, TRW was recognized as an innovator in the research, development and manufacture of electronic systems, integrated circuits, computers, as well as software development and systems engineering. During the length of Dr. Raue's tenure with the organization, he specialized in electromagnetic waves, specifically in the development of solid state transmitters and receivers in the millimeter wave frequency range, which at the time was still a nascent field of research, and which resulted in the publication of numerous technical papers.

Outside of his work in the development of advanced electronic systems, Dr. Raue served as an educator for numerous years. After graduating from college, he became a faculty member and the department chairperson at the Milwaukee School of Engineering between 1961 and 1969. He also briefly taught at Marquette University, where he had originally received his graduate degrees, and maintained involvement as a faculty member at Loyola University, and an electrical engineering department chairperson at the California Polytechnic State University. Dr. Raue subsequently joined the faculty at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1983, where he taught mostly graduate level courses in electrical engineering for nearly two decades. As a professional, scholar and researcher in his field, he notably contributed numerous scientific articles in scholarly journals.

Born in Germany, Dr. Raue immigrated to the U.S. by himself at the age of 15 and lived with a pastor and his family in Wisconsin. After high school, he decided to return home and began working in interpreting. Then, in 1955, he joined the U.S. Army and served for three years. Subsequently he began studying at the Milwaukee School of Engineering where he later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in electric engineering in 1961. Dr. Raue also received both a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering at Marquette University in 1965 and 1968, respectively. During his years pursuing his degrees, Dr. Raue had the pleasure of being mentored by two professors that helped him develop a passion for electromagnetic waves and millimeter wave power sources that inspired his doctoral research.

Apart from his paid positions, Dr. Raue volunteered his time with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. A nonprofit organization based on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in southwestern Los Angeles County, its mission is to preserve land and restore the habitat for both educational and recreational purposes. To commemorate his professional and civic accomplishments, Dr. Raue received a Distinguished Teacher Award in 1968 from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and was later named as an Outstanding Alumnus of the Year in 1985. Likewise, for his military career, he received a Certificate of Achievement in 1958 from the U.S. Army and a Letter of Recognition in 1992 from Robert Gates, the former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, for outstanding service to the nation.
