HONOLULU, HI, June 04, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raymond S. Iwamoto has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hawaii in 1962 and serving as a commissioned Army officer in the U.S. military during the mid-1960s including a tour in Viet Nam, Mr. Iwamoto pursued a Master of Social Work at his alma mater. Following this accomplishment, he became a family counselor but quickly pivoted toward legal studies, through which he attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Santa Clara in 1974 (graduating first in class) while serving as the manager of an apartment complex. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Iwamoto gained valuable expertise in law with Carlsmith Carlsmith Wichman and Case, and Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel.
Drawing on his professional expertise, Mr. Iwamoto excels today as a partner with Schlack Ito. In this capacity, he represents domestic and international clients, including financial institutions, landowners and individuals in real estate matters and business acquisitions. Due to his outstanding breadth of knowledge, Mr. Iwamoto has been engaged as an expert witness in real estate litigation and taught for the American Bar Association, the Hawaii State Bar Association's Real Property and Financial Services Section and Lorman Education Services.
Licensed to practice through the Hawaii State Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii, Mr. Iwamoto has maintained his affiliation with the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the American Bar Association and, previously, the American Institute of Practical Real Estate Lawyers. In conjunction with his work, he has served on the board of trustees of Palama Settlement and with the Hawaii Coast Guard Foundation. An expert in his field, Mr. Iwamoto has contributed to a plethora of articles, including "Liquidated Damages in Hawaii Real Estate Purchase and Sale Agreements," "My Hotel Deserves a Brand, But What If I Want to Terminate the Brand?" and "The Uninsured Risks of Development," which was featured in "The Practical Real Estate Lawyer."
For his outstanding work in the field, Mr. Iwamoto was recognized in the Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and as one of America's Leading Lawyers for Business through Chambers USA. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, he is most proud to have been invited into the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and of his status as the only attorney from Hawaii to serve on the board of governors. Within the next five years, Mr. Iwamoto intends to retire and travel more.
