Supported by more than 15 years of experience in law, Ms. Alvarez has excelled as the owner and attorney of her law firm, the Law Offices of Nicole Alvarez P.A. in Coral Gables since 2015. With a specialty in criminal defense and immigration law, she boasts a wealth of knowledge in legal practice and has represented numerous clients with her passion to find the best resolution for each case. Prior to establishing her own firm, she served as a litigation attorney with Brock & Scott PLLC, with which she specialized in foreclosure law and defended the rights of financial institutions. Likewise, Ms. Alvarez worked with an additional law firm, with which she had amassed a combined of 70 non-jury trials by 2014.
In 2014, Ms. Alvarez was employed by another firm, practicing insurance law and dealing with PIP and defending insurance companies. She began her career as a prosecutor for the State Attorney's Office in Broward County in 2005, during which time she represented the office in more than 50 jury trials within the realms of felonies and capital sex battery cases. Prior to departing from the State Attorney's Office in Broward County, Ms. Alvarez further made an impact as a sex crimes prosecutor.
Civically active as well, Ms. Alvarez is dedicated to helping her community, and has been involved in several charities. She previously found success as the chair of the Juntos Foundation. Moreover, she had maintained her affiliation with Pride Lines, Miami Beach Pride and the Miami-Dade County Advisory Board. Likewise, Ms. Alvarez is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the Florida Network of Lawyers, the Gay and Lesbian Lawyers Association and the Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Alvarez pursued a formal education at the University of South Florida, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2002. She concluded her studies at the Stetson University College of Law, graduating in 2005 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence.
