As a child, Mr. Wilson was always interested in biographies on people such as Thurgood Marshall and W.E.B. DuBois. He was also greatly influenced by leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. When he would travel through rural areas in the Southern United States to visit his grandparents, Mr. Wilson's parents would tell him stories about the Civil Rights Movement, which ultimately inspired him to become a lawyer in order to affect change in his career.
Mr. Wilson subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the College of Charleston and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Charleston School of Law. He was also a graduate of the inaugural class of the James E. Clyburn fellowship. Mr. Wilson has also been admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of South Carolina.
Mr. Wilson began his career as a law clerk in the Law Office of David Aylor LLC before working as a law clerk with the Law Office of Gedney M. Howe III P.A. He later served as an associate and assistant attorney for the Bostic Law Group P.A. Mr. Wilson works as an attorney with his own firm, the Law Office of Sean M. Wilson LLC, and an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law.
As a dedicated professional, Mr. Wilson established his practice while also operating as the chairman of his local Dorchester Democratic Party. In his practice, he has handled numerous wrongful death and personal injury cases, resulting in winning verdicts and settlements for his clients. In order to remain aware of developments in his field, he maintains his professional affiliation with the South Carolina Bar, the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Association of Justice, the National Association of Personal Injury Attorneys, and the New Economic Beginnings Foundation Inc. In his community, Mr. Wilson further flourishes on the board of COBRA Human Services.
For his exemplary efforts over the years, Mr. Wilson has been presented with the Charleston School of Law Public Service Award and the Political Awareness and Involvement Award from the North Charleston Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Most notably, he was recognized among Charleston Business Magazine's Best and Brightest Under 35. Mr. Wilson has attributed his professional success to his faith as well as his family's support.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Wilson plans to continue supporting the people of South Carolina. He likewise hopes to establish the Law Office of Sean M. Wilson LLC as one of the premier firms in the state in order to better serve more people.
