GREEN VALLEY, AZ, June 11, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present James A. Counter with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Counter celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A recognized financial planner and entrepreneur for decades, Mr. Counter retired from JA Counter in New Richmond, Wisconsin, in 2011 after nearly five decades of excellence in the industry. Originally founded in 1976 as an insurance agency after spending 13 years as an insurance agent, he later became a registered representative in securities, a chartered life underwriter and a chartered financial consultant, through which he provided clients with his expertise in financial, estate and investment planning. A well-known member of the community, Mr. Counter enjoyed offering a service that taught his customers how to be fiscally responsible and to prepare adequately for the future. Presently, the business continues to thrive under the leadership of his successor, Linda Skoglund.
Contributing to his local community during his free time, Mr. Counter has been a member of the United Way of Great Saint Croix County in New Richmond. He also served as a member of the Saint Croix Development Commission, and as the president of the New Richmond Area Community Foundation. Designed to assist various nonprofit organizations and other programs through its grants-making method, the foundation also focuses its efforts on addressing various other issues affecting the community.
After earning his bachelor's degree, Mr. Counter continued his studies, acquiring a Master of Science in financial services at the American College of Financial Services in Pennsylvania in 1988. During the length of his professional career, he maintained his alignment with a multitude of professional organizations, most notably the Local Association of Life Underwriters, where he served as its president.
In 2016, Mr. Counter became an award-winning author with the publishing of his book, "Two Paths, One Understanding." Co-authored with his sister, Anna Counter, it is the story of how the two reconnected after many years of separation, yet still came to share the very same beliefs about life and reality. Mr. Counter's accomplishments in the field were recognized with a Top Agency Award from Transamerica Financial Advisors Inc. His book was also named to the Amazon Best Sellers List.
