From her youth, Ms. Pugh decided that she wanted to be an educator. After earning a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Central Arkansas, she began her career in the field as a third-grade teacher for Southwest Christian Academy, with which she remained for the following year. Subsequently, Ms. Pugh gained valuable expertise in the field as a second-grade teacher for Cloverdale Christian Academy, a third-grade teacher at Abundant Life School and a first-grade teacher at Pulaski County Special Schools.
In 2005, Ms. Pugh accepted a position with Cabot Public Schools as a teacher for first through fourth-grade students. For more than 15 years, she has remained dedicated to lifelong learning by obtaining a Master of Education from Arkansas Tech University, which has been one of the highlights of her career, and completing RISE Training, early learning and literacy training and effective literacy training. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Ms. Pugh has adapted her teaching style to best provide for her students.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Pugh has been affiliated with the Cabot Teachers Association, the Arkansas Education Association, the National Educators Association and the local teachers' union. Alongside her work in the field, she also contributes to those less fortunate through a feeding program at her local church and school. In light of her professional excellence, she was included in Who's Who Among the Assemblies of God Educators. She likewise received a nomination for Cabot Teacher of the Year through the Cabot Teachers Association. Looking toward the future, Ms. Pugh intends to return to the classroom and mentor the next generation of teaching professionals.
