Originally hailing from India, he pursued higher education at the University of Calcutta in Kolkata, India, from which he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 2000 and a Bachelor of Technology in polymer science in 2003. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2011.
Among his numerous achievements, Dr. Chakraborty has mentored undergraduate and graduate students under the International Institute for Nanotechnology and The Posner Research Program during his stint as a post-doctoral associate at Northwestern University. He has also volunteered to review manuscripts in different peer-reviewed journals. Beyond his primary professional endeavors, he refined his skill set as an in-plant trainee with Reliance Industries Limited in 2002.
