Ms. Thomas initially earned a Bachelor of Science in education and a Master of Arts in sports administration from Wayne State University in Detroit. She concluded her education with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. In her youth, Ms. Thomas had read biographies about people obtaining their wealth through real estate transactions and decided to enter the field, concentrating on asset management and commercial real estate after completing law school.
From 2001 to 2003, Ms. Thomas managed corporate fitness facilities owned by The Habitat Company, a real estate firm based in Chicago. She subsequently performed various services for the City of Detroit from 2004 to 2010. She further excelled as commercial real estate business development analyst in Southfield, Michigan in 2013, a Senior Foreclosure Specialist with BSI Financial Services from 2013 to 2014 and a Marketing Analyst for the Atlanta Housing Authority in 2016. Likewise, Ms. Thomas was active as a City of Atlanta Compliance Specialist responsible for ensuring that an organization fulfills all federal, state, and local laws in the Department of City Planning from 2017 to 2018.
In 2001, Ms. Thomas became the founder and chief executive officer of The Thomas Agency, a licensed real estate brokerage in Michigan and Georgia. She is also noted as the founder of AJT Law, an Atlanta-based law firm that represents owners, buyers, sellers, borrowers, developers, contractors, real estate agents, landlords and tenants on a wide range of real estate matters. Ms. Thomas has been admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Georgia as well as before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Ms. Thomas has been affiliated with several professional organizations, including the CCIM, the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors (ACBR), the Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors, the Detroit Association of Realtors, the Women's Affordable Housing Network, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute. Moreover, she is a member of the CREW, NewCRE, EMPIRE, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Gate City Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Ms. Thomas proudly operates as a board member of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Association of Black Law Alumni and Quest Community Development Organization as well as the City of Atlanta In Rem Review Board.
In 2020, Ms. Thomas earned the Connect Media Commercial Real Estate Attorneys Award. She attributes her success to her faith and support from her family and friends. In the coming years, Ms. Thomas hopes to continue to expand upon both of her real estate organizations.
