URBANA, IL, June 21, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anh Ha Thi Ho has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Ho celebrates more than 30 years of community outreach and education as a member of the staff of the East Central Illinois Refugee Mutual Assistance Center of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Born in Vietnam and raised in France, she earned teaching credentials in literature, fine art and French as a second language before relocating to the United States in 1985. Ms. Ho began her work with the East Central Illinois Refugee Mutual Assistance Center in 1991, and has served as the organization's director of client services since 2018.
As director of client services, and in her role as the president of the Vietnamese Association of Champaign-Urbana, Ms. Ho has dedicated herself to advocacy on behalf of immigrants and refugees living in her local area, including social work and services matching, tutoring and outreach, and apartment furnishing and in-kind donations distribution. In recognition of her lifetime of service on behalf of refugee and migrant populations, she has been elected a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of America and named the State of Illinois' Bilingual Assistant of the Year.
Ms. Ho attributes her success to her resiliency, the work ethic that her parents instilled in her and the compassion and self-confidence that she learned growing up as a refugee. She believes strongly that all people deserve the opportunity to prove themselves, and is proud to have dedicated her career to lending her voice to those who cannot yet advocate for themselves. Ms. Ho describes her work as "providing lasting service with compassion," and hopes to begin her transition into retirement within the next five years.
