Due to her passion for penal law, she decided to pursue work with the latter department so that she could apply her studies to help others. Throughout her career, Ms. Moten gained valuable expertise in the field through various roles with the New York Department of Probation and as a former Information Specialist for Forbes Magazine.
Drawing upon her considerable experience, Ms. Moten currently excels as a Supervising Probation Officer for the New York City Department of Probation, for which she is currently assigned to the Quality Assurance Unit. In conjunction with her professional work, she has contributed to her community as a member of the 28th Precinct Community Council of the New York City Police Department since 2013. In light of her outstanding work in the field, Ms. Moten was presented with an Employee of the Year Award from the New York Department of Probation in 1998. She was also honored with a Supervisor Management recognition award through the aforementioned department in 2002. Likewise, Ms. Moten accepted a Longevity Award in 2013 and a 30-Year Medal for Service in 2019.
