BESSEMER, AL, June 23, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David George has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in public affairs and political science from Samford University, Mr. George began garnering practical experience on Capitol Hill while studying at graduate school. Eventually obtaining a master's degree from the George Washington University, he worked for a U.S. senator from Alabama for two years. Though he intended to continue his career with the state department, Mr. George eventually flourished as the president of the American Mental Health Fund, which has since now merged with the National Mental Health Association.
Mr. George currently excels as the president of the Woman's Missionary Union Foundation. In his present position, he helps to secure funds for Baptist mission efforts by managing endowments and scholarships while also providing funding for state organizations and working closely with donors and grant recipients. He also helps others handle their estate in direct relation to the aforementioned foundation. Throughout his career, Mr. George has been incredibly proud of his work with the Woman's Missionary Union Foundation over the past 20 years, which now offers $2 million per year in grants.
Mr. George has attributed his professional success to his mentor, Jack, who led him on the right path. In addition, his parents instilled him with a strong work ethic, which he learned to balance later in life. Outside of his professional endeavors, he participates in a fundraising walk for the Alzheimer's Association. In the coming years, Mr. George plans to train someone for a leadership position in the Woman's Missionary Union Foundation so that he can prepare for retirement.
