With a lifelong passion to feed the world with sustainable food sources, Ms. Swain has dedicated her career to making a difference in her community and providing a voice to the voiceless. Since 2017, she has excelled as the GIS coordinator of Lykes Bros. Inc., a family-owned, integrated agriculture business with cattle, citrus, forestry, land and water resources and recreational hunting. Moreover, she contributes her expertise as the chairperson of the Highlands County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers, for which she previously served as the secretary and treasurer from 2018 to 2019. Dedicated to providing her customers with quality home goods and custom designs, Ms. Swain has found additional success as the chief executive officer of Crimson and Lace LLC since 2019. Furthermore, beginning in 2021, she established herself as the vice president of the Sebring Partnership after contributing as the secretary since 2016.
Ms. Swain initially earned an Associate of Arts in biology and biological sciences from South Florida State College in 2013 and completed coursework in environmental biology at Indian River State College in 2013. Thereafter, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Florida Atlantic University in 2017. During this time, she began her career as an education and field assistant at Florida Atlantic University from 2014 to 2017. For her efforts, she has received a Volunteer Management Certificate, a Vessel Livery Operator's Certificate, a Prescribed Fire Correspondence Course Certificate and a Geodatabase Topology Certificate. In 2021, Ms. Swain became certified in Rural Resilience by Michigan State University Extension.
Ms. Swain is proud to have purchased 10 acres of land on her own to start her cattle operation. In addition to her professional career, she actively volunteers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in a multitude of different positions. For her achievements in the field, she is proud to have been presented with the DEKALB Agriculture Award, as well as numerous Appreciation Certificates between 2015 and 2018. Looking toward the future, Ms. Swain aims to continue studying topics of agriculture in hopes of opening a larger ranch. Additionally, her goal is to explore such other positions as a legislator or the commissioner of agriculture.
