JACKSON, TN, June 24, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Swaroopa Ramdas has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After completing coursework in physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology at Mt. Carmel College, Bangalore, India in 1985, Dr. Ramdas obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College in Bangalore in 1992 and subsequently earned a certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in Singapore in 1993. After immigrating to the United States, she passed the three-step United States Medical Licensing Examination and interned in asthma research at Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York in 1998. Dr. Ramdas further completed 6,000 hours of coursework in continued medical education.
From 2001 to 2002, Dr. Ramdas excelled as a trauma fellow (ER) at Lutheran Medical Center, now NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn, and interned at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center from 2002 to 2003 in family medicine. She subsequently found much success as an intake coordinator at Tennessee Kidney Clinics in Jackson. In 2007, Dr. Ramdas became a full-time employee of West Tennessee Healthcare (lab and patient care technology), though she specializes in family medicine and comprehensive health care for people of all ages.
Dr. Ramdas successfully took courses in basic Spanish and basic computer applications at Queens College and earned a certificate in Special Publishing from the Institute of Children's Literature in Connecticut, in 2008. She is fluent in basic Spanish/Hindi/Kannada. She has long held an interest in medicine, having studied the subject extensively during her formative years in India. During this time, Dr. Ramdas drew deeply from her religious faith and aspired to avail herself to others as their caregiver.
