Inspired to pursue a career within the fashion industry since coming of age, Mr. Torres has dedicated his life to his love for clothing and design. As a child, he attended catholic school. Though he was instructed to wear a uniform five days a week, his love for fashion design continued to flourish, and by high school his style was the subject of praise from his peers. Carrying his passion with him, Mr. Torres obtained a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Thereafter, he began his career as a sales representative for L.P Thebault.
At L.P. Thebault, Mr. Torres was tasked with developing effective advertising concepts in an effort to execute specific marketing programs across various advertising mediums. Additionally, he directed the external and internal agencies and vendors involved in the execution of the brand communications campaign and brand related initiatives. Moreover, by developing strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external media partners, he established close working collaborations with the regional marketing teams of the business lines and functional divisions to ensure that regional branding and media plans were aligned to the company's business strategy and requirements. Mr. Torres' various other responsibilities included handling photo production, web design, printing and trend forecasting.
Beginning in 1998, Mr. Torres has found success as the vice president of International Color Services. In this role, he applies his expertise to lead production strategies with deployment on national platform markets to capture all levels of direct mail programs and he cultivates partnerships with multi-national stores and upscale businesses to secure licensing and marketing opportunities. Furthermore, he creates, develops and installs unique marketing facilities to showcase new product lines for high end retail accounts. Additionally, Mr. Torres is credited with introducing new ventures combining successful merchandising formulas with the development and direction of merchandise and procurement products.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Torres is gratified to have directed catalog programs for such renowned organizations as Saks Fifth Avenue, MacKenzie Childs, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Dean & DeLuca, Maus & Hoffman and Bergdorf Goodman. Looking toward the future, he aims to continue along his career path in homes of establishing himself as a pivotal asset to an advertising agency or a retail store.
