Dr. Johnson has been inventing extraordinary devices since the age of 25, at which point he concluded that he could not truly thrive within the structure of a conventional occupation. Among his first widely-recognized inventions was a computer-embedded running shoe called the Micropacer. Dr. Johnson sold his patent for the shoe to Adidas, which subsequently created the version that was famously promoted at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
Ten years later, Dr. Johnson invented Microsharp, which would become his first commercially successful product. This photo-polymer film creates high-definition images by removing all interference or visual noise from a television or computer screen. All of the patents that Dr. Johnson obtained for Microsharp were sold and licensed to a variety of leading manufacturers.
The inventor's proudest creation, however, would not emerge until about 30 years into his career. Alongside cryptography specialist Dr. Mark Blunden, Dr. Johnson invented SEAcurIT-e TM, which dramatically diminishes the threat of data breaches by strengthening the protection of cryptographic keys and other critical data. Cloud applications and cryptocurrency are two of the many increasingly-popular types of technology that could benefit from the advanced protection offered by SEAcurIT-e but Data protection taking the lead.
In the mid-1990s, Dr. Johnson lent his ingenuity to the University of Southampton to help identify new technologies for academic research. About two years into the partnership, the aforementioned university reciprocated his contributions by awarding him an Honorary Doctor of Design in 1997. Dr. Johnson's work has also been recognized at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland, where he has been presented with seven Gold Medals, and the Prix de Presse and the Oscar de l'Invention. His most recent string of inventions include an innovative Two Legged "Tiger Tooth Tee (Reg.)" to help improve the golfer's game and the GoogleVox, which is a de-pixilation system for head-mounted displays. His latest patented invention being ToPo® and Tetra-Kap® "the Plastic Bottle Top that turns into a Toy" which won the Plastic Industries Award for Consumer Product Design of the Year 2019. TopPo® and Tetra-Kap® have also recently won six other awards including Sustainability, Environmental, Educational and Health Awards. A Bottle Top that was a Single Use item into a useful collectable and kept toy no longer to be wantonly discarded.
