A results-oriented business professional, Ms. Vardiman has garnered a lauded reputation as the founder and chief executive officer of Esteem We Inc., a national community-minded organization and as CEO of Detroit Possible Inc a professional and youth development organization in her hometown that empowers local youth and professionals in the community and assists local, national and international corporations in leveraging their social responsibility to have a positive impact on urban and underserved communities. Over the course of her professional journey, she has enriched her community through creating a National Professional Community Action Group, developing a signature event Youth Day Explosion held in Detroit annually that provides much needed Life Skills Training, Education, and Information Referral to youth ages 13-19; and is a highly collaborative and impactful event for teenagers and their families. Likewise, Ms. Vardiman has created The City Possible Initiative establishing campaigns in four regions across the U.S: D.C. Possible, L.A. Possible, Atlanta Possible and Detroit Possible and played an instrumental role in creating and planning the First Community Youth Day which culminated into Youth Day Explosion across the U.S.; which began with the adoption of two high schools in the Nation's Capital: McKinley Tech High School and H.D. Woodson High School where she also developed subsequent programs: Healthy Snacks Initiative and After School Connection in Washington, D.C.
Prior to establishing herself in the community, Ms. Vardiman gained valuable professional expertise as an independent business development and marketing professional, a branding and communications strategist for A Joseph Company, and special projects coordinator for Empowering Ideas LLC between 2009 and 2011. She also distinguished herself as an adept marketing promoter for Radio One/V100 in 2007 and as a production researcher for TV One/Oliver Beach Productions from 2006 to 2007. For many years, Ms. Vardiman additionally worked in the hospitality industry as a brand ambassador for worldwide brands: Hilton, Westin, Loews, Casa Del Mar, Shutters on the Beach, The Gaylord National Harbor, Pottery Barn and more.
Dedicated to pursuing a wealth of education in various fields, Ms. Vardiman earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications- television, film and media-broadcast journalism from California State University, Los Angeles, a Master of Arts in executive leadership with a nonprofit concentration and certification in management and leadership from Liberty University in 2016 and an executive leadership degree in digital transformation and certification in digital marketing from Columbia Business School. Outside of her primary responsibilities, she is active as a board member with the BUF Connect Young Professionals Team. Noting the lack of hope that pervades throughout urban communities among our youth, Ms. Vardiman is dedicated to connecting, serving, and transforming the lives or urban youth and professionals; encouraging others to shine as lights in the darkness and offer young people a chance to succeed in the future.
In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Vardiman is most proud to have been elected as a delegate from her local area to attend a Dress for Success Worldwide Summit in Chicago. The organization, which she represented on the behalf of as a mentor between 2004 and 2011, collaborates with women who are transitioning from welfare subsistence to the workforce. In addition to her appointment as a delegate, Ms. Vardiman delivered a keynote address for the Annual Worldwide Conference held at Westin Georgetown Hotel in Washington, D.C., and received a Beacon of Light Award for her exemplary contributions to the organization.
Esteemed throughout her field, Ms. Vardiman was presented with the Spirit of Detroit Award and a Service in the City Community Builder Award. Furthermore, she received a nomination for the John Maxwell Transformational Leader Award in 2018. And was nominated for Ebony Magazines' 30 under 30. She credits her success to the encouragement and support of her family, as well as the tutelage of all the wonderful mentors that she has met and learned under throughout her career. Looking toward the future, Ms. Vardiman hopes to complete her first of many books as an aspiring author and to continue to develop a step-by- step system for entrepreneurs whereby they can learn how to digitally devise their business online and reach prosperous new heights.
