MAMARONECK, NY, July 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Charles Marden Fitch with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Fitch celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
For over four decades, Dr. Fitch's deep passion for science has fueled his remarkable career in communications and education. He obtained a Bachelor of Science from New York University in 1960 followed by a Master of Arts from the aforementioned university two years later. During this period, he also worked as a talent producer for public television station WNET-13 and as the director of natural science programming for the National TV System. In 1963, Dr. Fitch traveled to Colombia with the United States Peace Corps and flourished as a director of natural science programming for two years.
After finding further success as a director, producer and communications consultant in El Salvador and Chile, Dr. Fitch was recruited as a science teacher and media specialist by the Mamaroneck Union Free School District. While thriving in both roles, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Columbia Pacific University in San Rafael, California, in 1982. Dr. Fitch's responsibilities at the Mamaroneck Union Free School District are currently focused on helping teachers, librarians and other faculty members utilize audio-visual equipment and other multimedia tools.
Throughout his vast career, Dr. Fitch has authored over ten books on numerous horticultural topics, such as "All About Orchids," "The Complete Book of Miniature Roses" and "Fresh Flowers: Identifying, Selecting and Arranging." In 1995, he was, likewise, awarded with a Gold Medal of Achievement from the American Orchid Society for his distinguished contributions to orchid research and culture.
