In 1979, Mr. Puck's parents established their business, Puck Enterprises, in custom manure application and custom hay bailing. During the summer, he often cut, raked and baled small square bales for neighbors and other surrounding producers in the local region. Driven by the example of his selfless and hardworking parents, Mr. Puck felt compelled to contribute on behalf of his small community.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Puck studied at Iowa State University, but soon returned to his hometown to work with his family. When he began as general labor and then sales development, the company employed 8 people, including himself. They began selling their own manure application equipment in 2006, with the ultimate goal of bringing new innovation and efficiency to the liquid manure industry.
When Mr. Puck took on the role of vice president and general manager, he decided to focus on sales and production, and eventually opened two remote sales and service locations in Worthing, SD and Farley, IA. During this time, he also grew Puck Enterprises from $3 million to $60 million in revenue. Their headquarters was also expanded from 15,000 to 246,500 square feet. Currently, Mr. Puck proudly employs more than 170 people, and is continuing to grow.
As the chief executive officer of Puck Enterprises, Mr. Puck is responsible for three Puck entities; Puck Enterprises in Iowa, Bulldog Hose Company in North Carolina, and U.S. Coupling in Alabama. They also have stores in South Dakota, Eastern Iowa, and Croatia, with the Croatian store growing into a wide scale European distributor. Civically, Mr. Puck also maintains an active presence in various local and state organizations.
Over the years, Mr. Puck has attributed his professional success to his parents, family, friends, and colleagues, many of whom have always motivated him to go beyond what was expected of him.
