He was subsequently recruited as a supply chain analyst for the Mosaic Company, where he excelled for five years while developing an expertise in driving down operational and shipping costs. From 2009 until 2015, Mr. Carvajal found further success as the global supply chain manager for Newell Brands.
Throughout the following five years, Mr. Carvajal thrived as the vice president of the supply chain at Cali Bamboo, which is a direct-to-consumer flooring company that also serves as a supplier for various national brands, such as Ace Hardware Corporation, Lowes Companies Inc., and Petco Health and Wellness Company Inc. Thanks to his innovative strategies, Cali Bamboo saved over $46 million in just two years. Mr. Carvajal was promoted to become the chief operating officer in 2020 and has since flourished in this demanding role, which involves overseeing a myriad of departments, including vendor management, quality assurance and cost control.
The aforementioned promotion occurred after Mr. Carvajal met with several U.S. representatives and senators in Washington D.C. to garner support for the removal of a 25% tariff on vinyl flooring. His application for the tariff removal was eventually approved, which resulted in $5 million in annual savings for Cali Bamboo and approximately $500 million in annual savings for the flooring industry as a whole. Mr. Carvajal is extremely proud to have taken the initiative to represent his industry, because his victory had a direct impact on the success of large and small companies alike.
