REDWOOD CITY, CA, July 15, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor Yvonne Marie Webb with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Ms. Webb celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Growing up, Ms. Webb greatly admired her father, who worked for General Motors as one of the only Black foreman at the time. He was also a musician and played in a band while serving in World War II in the United States Navy. She always admired his work ethic, as he had at least two jobs to provide for his family. She was inspired by his commitment and began spending her summers working at General Motors in finance.
In college, Ms. Webb initially wanted to study marketing. However, her teachers encouraged her to consider accounting because of her excellent grades. She eventually ventured into accounting and received a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Bowling Green State University in 1976, and later, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1978. Ms. Webb is also a certified public accountant in that State of Ohio, and she completed the Kaiser Permanente Advanced Leadership Program at the University of North Carolina in 2007.
After several successful years in accounting, tax and finance, Ms. Webb took on the role of director of fraud prevention and financial governance at Kaiser Permanente in 2003. She went on to remain with Kaiser Permanente for more than a decade, holding positions as the assistant controller and vice president of human resources compliance and enterprise risk management from 2008 until her retirement in 2018. While with Kaiser Permanente, she was most proud of her ability to lead teams in working toward the best outcome for every employee involved. In addition, she also enjoyed transitioning from finance to human resources during a time when the company was experiencing financial uncertainties. She worked closely with the chief human resources officer to understand the company's value system and implement real change. As such, she was able to put together a team that resolved a critical issue in a short period. For her efforts in this position, she was recognized as a Kaiser Permanente Women in Technology Role Model and Mentor.
In retirement, Ms. Webb is on the board of the San Mateo County Health Foundation, through which she is able to serve her community. The organization works to serve uninsured individuals and those who cannot afford health care services. During the coronavirus pandemic, they have worked to ensure widespread access to vaccinations and treatments. In addition, Ms. Webb has been affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Black Accountants, the San Mateo County Commission on the Status of Women, and the San Francisco Peninsula chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.
Over the years, Ms. Webb has attributed her professional success to her fearlessness and passion for her field. She has always been willing to take on difficult assignments in order to help others, regardless of how difficult the task may seem. Looking toward the future, she plans to serve on more advisory boards to be a guide to others and challenge the way individuals think in the community. She would ultimately like to promote and support advocacy, diversity and inclusion practices.
