Well regarded for his inimitable expertise as a private practice attorney and public official, Mr. Pattison has been serving the community of Batavia, Ohio, since 1972. Specializing in criminal and OVI defense, family law, estate planning, probate and elder law, as well as eminent domain and zoning, he bears extensive expertise in civil law. Mr. Pattison's esteemed career also included more than a decade as an assistant prosecuting attorney and county prosecutor for the Clermont County between 1975 and 1988, as well as four years as an elected judge in Clermont County Municipal Court from 2011 until 2015. Serving on three occasions, Mr. Pattison notably ran for political office seven times countywide.
Lending his time and expertise to the community, Mr. Pattison recently accepted a position as a board member of the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce in 2020. He was also the chairperson of the Southeast Ohio Developmental Center citizen advisory council, a position he formerly held between 1984 and 2002. He is active with Trinity Methodist Church as its finance chairperson. Mr. Pattison was a Board Member of the Clermont County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, now known as the Developmental Disabilities Board, an organization dealing with those afflicted with intellectual and developmental disabilities as a board director from 1997 until 2002. Mr. Pattison's interest in mental health and seizure related issues stems from his daughter, who suffers from severe developmental issues. Apart from these roles, he is a longstanding member of the Masons.
Mr. Pattison received a Bachelor of Science at the Ohio State University in 1967, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Cincinnati in 1972. He has been admitted to practice law by the Ohio Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Ohio and the Supreme Court of the United States. Well regarded for his manifold contributions to the field, Mr. Pattison was recognized with the 2021 Martha Dorcy Pacesetter Award by the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce, and enjoys an AV rating via Martindale-Hubbell.
A prominent member of several industry related organizations, Mr. Pattison has been active with the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Clermont County Bar Association and the Ohio Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a 1972 Environmental Law Essay winner of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Likewise, Mr. Pattison has been the chairperson of the Clermont County Citizens Law Enforcement Association.
