Alongside his career in politics, Mr. Guillory has excelled as the president and board chairman of the National Capital Texas A&M Club Endowment, which helps students subsidize the cost of their postsecondary education. He currently serves as the director of student and institutional aid policy at the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), for which he is responsible for advocating on the behalf of students and the private, nonprofit higher education sector to Congress, federal agencies, and the White House.
While enrolled at Texas A&M University, Mr. Guillory was selected out of 3,000 graduating students to provide the invocation, the only speaking role provided to a student, for his class's commencement ceremony in 2007. He was likewise presented with the aforementioned institution's prestigious Buck Weirus Spirit Award.
