HENDERSONVILLE, TN, July 26, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brian Lackey has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having come of age with a great love for sports, Mr. Lackey was encouraged by his father to take up golf, through which he eventually steered his career ambitions towards providing lessons and educational direction for all players. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he set his path to become a Director of Golf at a high-end facility. His passion for teaching and coaching changed that course as he began to pursue a Director of Instruction position. Mr. Lackey is currently the Director of Instruction at The Golf Club of Tennessee giving nearly 2000 lessons a year. He also taught at The Johnny Warren Golf Academy and was the Lead Golf Instructor at Gaylord Springs, both places helping to groom him into the professional he is today. He gives credit to his mentors, Hunt Gilliland, John Upton, Johnny Warren and Harry Taylor. Throughout his career, he has helped younger kids make their middle and high school teams, aided in their success to get to the college level and also helped several get to the tour level.
As an accomplished professional, Mr. Lackey is credited with co-developing the Pendulum Putting Rod, a teaching aid used by more than 300 PGA tour players and is used worldwide. For his efforts over the years, he has received accolades as PGA Teacher of the Year in the Tri-Cities Chapter and Middle Tennessee Chapter four times as well been named PGA Section Teacher of The Year for the state of Tennessee three times. Outside of his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Lackey donates his time by coaching in recreational basketball and baseball leagues in his area. He also donates to his local church and has a scholarship program for those less fortunate to aid in their golf career.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Lackey plans to hire more instructors in order to continue the development of his program. He would also like to be more involved in the PGA on a national level in order to educate other teachers and further nurture the interest of younger players in the game.
