Dr. Jensen is a retired researcher and biochemist whose career included extensive work in clinical chemistry, and she is still the president and co-founder of her own business, Jensen Craft Enterprises Inc. Her R&D career focused on medical assays on body fluids such as blood, urine and spinal fluid. During her extensive career, Dr. Jensen enjoyed various other prominent and rewarding positions with such organizations as IDEXX Laboratory Inc., where she worked as a manager of clinical chemistry research and development. She also worked with a start-up in Boston as a research and development manager and Instrumentation Laboratory in Lexington, Massachusetts, for which she garnered several positions, including as the scientific support manager for its clinical chemical strategic business. Since retiring, she has focused on expanding her family's geneaology research and is currently working on publishing.
As an extension of her career, Dr. Jensen taught as an adjunct faculty member at the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center in Lake Placid, New York, from 1974 to 1976. She later lent her expertise as a special reviewer for In Vitro between 1980 and 1981, and was a proposal reviewer on behalf of the National Science Foundation from 1983 to 1986. Likewise, Dr. Jensen found success as a working group member of the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards from 1995 to 1996.

Among other achievements, she completed pioneering research on environmental control and cell culture. She has secured two U.S. patents in her field as well. Dr. Jensen's research has been disseminated in various scholarly journals and she served as a contributing author of "Cell Culture and Its Application" in 1977 and "Practical Tissue Culture Applications" in 1979. Reflecting on her many accomplishments, Dr. Jensen is most grateful to have been able to serve in such high-level corporate positions, which was quite uncommon for a woman at the time.
A longtime volunteer, Dr. Jensen was an organist and pianist at Island Pond Baptist Church in Hampstead, New Hampshire, for more than 30 years until 2017. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Pilgrim Edward Doty Society. Backed by several industry-related organizations, Dr. Jensen was a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry and the American Philatelic Society. She is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
Interested in the STEM fields for much of her life, Dr. Jensen's mother was notably a mathematics teacher for many years. After graduating from high school, she received a Bachelor of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1966, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy at Cornell University in 1973. To gain promotions in her field, she also completed a Master of Business Administration at Babson College several years later in 1983 while working full-time. Dr. Jensen was fortunate to secure a research grant from the World Health Organization between 1980 and 1981.
