Since 2018, Mr. Elliott has thrived as a licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA) for Abundant Hope Counseling Services in Louisville, Kentucky. Every week, he travels to an array of public schools to conduct sessions with adolescent clients who are between the ages of 8 and 15. Mr. Elliott also regularly visits his clients at their home to treat a wide range of mental health issues, such as anger, anxiety and depression. He previously obtained a Master of Education in counseling and human development from Lindsey Wilson College.
In addition to his counseling career, Mr. Elliott has excelled as a statistical process control specialist at the Ford Motor Company since 1993. His primary responsibilities include collecting measurements of sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks and supplying engineers with this vital data. In the near future, Mr. Elliott intends to retire from Ford in order to focus entirely on developing his counseling expertise.
From 1989 until 1992, Mr. Elliott served as a third class petty officer boiler technician for the U.S. Navy. His decision to become a mental health counselor was originally inspired by his desire to help fellow veterans cope with post-traumatic stress disorder and other crippling mental illnesses. Mr. Elliott also attributes a great deal of his success to the support of his family, which gave him the confidence and determination he needed to pursue a second career.
