SISTER BAY, WI, August 03, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jodi Rose Gonzales has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Ms. Gonzales began her career as an outreach director at the Peninsula School of Art. During this time, she also worked as the director of the Guenzel Gallery at the school and later received a Master of Arts in expressive arts therapy and counseling psychology from Prescott College. Having always felt the need to help others through her own passion for creativity, she garnered additional success as an art clinician at RCS Empowers Inc., the art director of VisionPerry, an expressive arts therapist and youth program director of PSA Art Awakenings, and a primary art therapist at the Mirasol Centers for Eating Disorders Recovery. Presently, Ms. Gonzales serves as the chief executive officer and founding member of Jodi Rose Studio, LLC.
Previously, Ms. Gonzales worked as an environmental artist and jewelry designer, but later became interested in the psychology of group process at the intersection of creativity and nature. For the past two decades, she has been instrumental in developing community arts initiatives, through which she has curated and implemented more than 110 projects and exhibits, including public art and temporary environmental sculpture installations. In 2009, she co-founded an art-based economic development initiative and arts district in the rural community of Perry County, Tennessee and, with the 390th Memorial Museum, secured Core Documents Verification by the American Alliance of Museums. Most notably, Ms. Gonzales completed two service trademarks and published two Amazon number one new releases: "Doodle's Code" and "Drawn to Yoga: How to Combine Creativity and Yoga for a Deeper Connection to Your True Self."
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Gonzales has focused on personal empowerment through creativity. Her current artistic work follows this theme, and is displayed in a group exhibit at the Idea Contemporary Art Gallery. This ongoing body of work, called "Girl in the Woods," was featured in the Peninsula Pulse. As a respected voice in yoga, she has contributed to various blogs and online publications, including Huda Beauty and Bustle. Ms. Gonzales has also contributed articles to various journals, been featured on television, and participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at several galleries and artist residencies.
Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Gonzales was most recently nominated as a Woman of Influence in the New North by Insight on Business. She received recognition for the Business Plan of the Year by the Door County Economic Development Corporation in 2020. She was also named as a Lifestyle Expert/Beauty Blogger to Follow in 2019 by Upjourney, and was listed among the Top 12 Visionary Women of the New Year by Spirited Woman Magazine. Previously, Ms. Gonzales was an Honorary Commander for the 355th Air Force Maintenance Squadron (United States Air Force). She received grant awards from numerous sources including the Wisconsin Arts Board, and was the recipient of the Fred J. Alley Visionary Award from the Peninsula Arts Association and the Award of Excellence at the Artis Gras Juried Fine Art Fair.
Ms. Gonzales has attributed her professional success to her family, faith, tenacity, and the mentors who supported her journey. She is currently affiliated with the International Yoga Alliance, the Art Therapy Credentials Board, the National Board of Certified Counselors, and the American Art Therapy Association. Civically, she is active with the Mental Health Focus Group and the Trauma-Informed Community Team in Door County, Wisconsin. Looking toward the future, she plans to continue serving as a positive force in the lives of others, and would like to complete two more publishing projects, as well as a small sculpture park. Ultimately, Ms. Gonzales plans to offer valuable programs for the public to connect with nature, each other and themselves.
