KLAMATH FALLS, OR, August 03, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David B. Clawson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With a background in construction and engineering, Mr. Clawson has found success as the owner of Dave Clawson Well Drilling since 1996. In this position, he is responsible for drilling and restoring geothermal wells. He specializes in restoring hot water wells.
Mr. Clawson obtained an associate degree in civil engineering in 1973. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and surveying from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 1975. More recently, he graduated with an associate degree in environmental science from Salish Kootenai College affiliated with the University Of Montana Western in 1999. He received his well driller license in 2006. While in college, Mr. Clawson conducted tests to determine the reason for breathing problems in children at the Tribal day care center. His findings demonstrated that the children had a high particulate dust content traveling inside their lungs due to the poor air quality surrounding Salish Kootenai Community College. Corrections were made in the buildings to lower the particulate matter. In light of his discoveries, he has been recognized as an honorary member by the Kootenay Tribe.
Mr. Clawson decided to pursue a career in well drilling after he was quoted $40,000 to drill a well on his property. While constructing his home in Montana, he began to drill the well with his own well driller. He subsequently fell in love with the work, and made a career out of his passion.
Mr. Clawson is proud to have completed his thesis at the University of Montana, at which time he inspired the State Geologist to rewrite their geological journals based upon the information he provided on the Corrdilleran Ice Sheet. In addition, he wrote the only known formula on how to find the offset to a spiral curve. His formula is applicable while designing freeways and highways. He is honored that the Oregon Institute of Technology and Oregon State Highways Dept. still leverages his formula today.
In addition to his career as a well driller, Mr. Clawson is a musician, lead singer and guitarist associated with the group Dave and the Charley's Lights Out Band. Their first copyrighted and published album, which released in 2020, is held in the Library of Congress. Notably, he and his band members have toured with the Beach Boys and Johnny Cash earlier in their musical careers. He is grateful to have written country, rock and roll, and spiritual music pertaining to topics of self-help, and he aims to have a second album completed between 2022 and 2023.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Clawson aims to wind down his business. He would like to sell his equipment and build a house on the countryside. He will continue to play music and hopes to tour and play different venues.
