Tyler Bray Distinguished For His Efforts in the Business World

In just a short window of time, Tyler Bray—a 23-year-old entrepreneur recognized by Inc., Forbes, and other business-focused publications—has made a name for himself in the areas of marketing, e-commerce, and advertising. Since 2013, he has served as the co-founder and owner of TK Trailer Parts, a role he balances out with other successful ventures and responsibilities. Upon reflection of his achievements so far at such a young age, Mr. Bray attributes them to his upbringing, understanding of people, desire to treat people fairly, and love for being empathetic, communicative, motivating, and innovative.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Bray had a strong role model in his mother, Sonya, while growing up. Through her, he learned to never give up, to always push through, and always do the best he can—no matter the odds. She also instilled in him the idea that he could do anything he wanted to, as long as he worked hard and showed determination. The eldest of nine siblings, five of whom were blood-related, he was always thinking about how he could best take care of his large family and ensure they were well-off financially. When he was 14 years old, he was taken under the wing of his new stepfather, Jim, an entrepreneur himself, who explained to him about career options and the different lifestyles one can have. An excellent student, with grades that ranked him as number one in his class, Mr. Bray—partly inspired by one his favorite poems, "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost—made the decision to drop out of public school in the ninth grade in order to focus his attention on business ventures full-time, the first one being TK Trailer Parts.

Despite the risky headfirst dive into the business world in his early teens, it didn't take long for Mr. Bray's entrepreneurship to take off. After a few years of getting his products distribution company up and running—it was later selected by Inc. magazine as the 1972nd fastest growing private company in the United States out of 5000—he wasted no time in launching new ideas. In 2017, he became the principal owner of Master Plans & Design, Inc., the co-founder, principal owner, and chief executive officer of the TK Trailer Manufacturing Company, and the owner of Ranger Off-road & Outdoor Supply. Additionally, since 2018, he has founded numerous websites for local businesses, as well as for the city. As his primary expertise has always involved ensuring the growth of his companies by dealing in marketing, interpersonal relationships, and content creation, he has helped several businesses with their advertising and getting their names out there. Mr. Bray has been passionate about building people and businesses up, and pursued his specific career not to make money but to make an impact.

Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Bray has also made it a priority to continue his education, earning diplomas and certificates from Allen High School in 2016 and currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial studies at Babson College. On the side, he has enjoyed acting and modeling and has lent his skills to the Armatus Reintegration Program as a board adviser since 2018; there, he and his colleagues provide housing, necessities, and vocational training for veterans out of jail. He also often participates in speaking engagements and acts as a consulting for up and coming businesses. Over the course of his young career, he has already earned several accolades, which include the Inc. 5000 Award for TK Trailer Parts in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, which was a big deal for him and the recognition he has been most proud of. He has also taken great pride in watching his employees grow and prosper—for instance, one who had previously worked at Burger King is now in a leadership role in one of the company's warehouses. "It's not about the accolades….but making a difference," he has said. "The real award…is being able to make a difference in another person's life, a positive effect." On a more personal level, the highlight of his myriad accomplishments has been serving as a role model for his younger siblings and showing them that it's possible to do what one wants in life—already his 13-year-old sister is an aspiring entrepreneur who wants to follow in his footsteps.

A passionate member of the YEC Young Entrepreneur Council and the Entrepreneurs'' Organization, Mr. Bray advised others hoping to start a business and lead others to "believe in your people, build them up, take care of your people, and, in return, you will find they will do the same for you." Looking toward the future, he hopes to utilize the successes of his businesses to launch more ventures—all with the goal of having a big impact on his generation, so others can be successful and happy in their lives.
