SAN CLEMENTE, CA, August 05, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David F. Combs has been included in Marquis Who's Who in America. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, profiled individuals are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Combs enjoyed a fulfilling career in risk control that spanned four decades … his last 15 years with Liberty Mutual Insurance as a senior risk control specialist. In previous positions with Fireman's Fund, and in addition to his field consulting work, his duties included writing quarterly client newsletters focusing on workers compensation and risk management, as well as the administrative duties of Regional Manager in both Loss Control and Client Services. Whatever his role within these large organizations, Mr. Combs demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of his profession, where he distinguished himself among colleagues, top management and independent agents and brokers as "one of the best risk control professionals in Southern California."
Mr. Combs' exemplary performance was born of his academic efforts and on-the-job training, starting with an education at Miami University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in banking and finance. Interviewed at college and hired as an underwriter trainee by a small commercial insurance company in Ohio, Mr. Combs soon transferred to California to start his career in Loss Control. This career pursuit included continuing educational classes and associate degrees, ALCM and ASP (Associate in Loss Control Management and Associate Safety Professional.)
Over the course of his professional journey, and then in retirement at age 61, Mr. Combs authored several publications regarding his field, "The Best Job Ever: You Might Be a Risk Control Consultant," and "Selling Safety – Enhancing Professional Sales Skills." In a career suffused with highlights and professional accolades, and in addition to being published, he was proud to be nominated to The President's Club for Fireman's Fund, which included only the top 30 employees of the company.
In the future, Mr. Combs hopes to be on a Board of Directors, or delve into the world of teaching in order to pass on what he has learned to the next generations of risk management professionals.
