Dr. Gur's career recently included a seven-year tenure with The Clorox Company in Oakland and Pleasanton, California. Initially an enterprise data architect, he was responsible for supporting global insights by building production models and standardized corporate data models, among other duties, including working on the vision of 20/20 enterprise architecture of the organization. He then transitioned into the roles of senior data specialist and enterprise data architect, in which he continued to support the enterprise data architecture team, among other duties. Prior to his commitments at The Clorox Company, Dr. Gur was chief principal for Delegata and held several positions with MCI Communications and other major U.S. corporations, including Mead, Mead Digital and Kodak.
A consultant in his field, Dr. Gur has coordinated with several significant organizations over the years, including Hewlett-Packard's Boise division and Xerox. He also enjoyed teaching as an adjunct professor at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he taught courses in engineering, linear systems modelling, linear programming, stochastic programming and digital control to upper-class students. He also developed and taught a course titled "Ink-Jet Physics." The first of its kind in the U.S., the course was supported by a grant from Kodak. As a seasoned researcher and scholar, Dr. Gur also authored and co-authored several international, peer-reviewed journal articles in such publications as the Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, the Journal of Rheology, and Soil Science.
Highly educated, Dr. Gur earned an undergraduate degree in engineering and physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1967. He subsequently graduated with a Doctor of Science in colloid chemistry and numerical mathematics at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1979. Additionally, Dr. Gur has been certified in high-impact presentation skills and diplomatic communication through Dale Carnegie in 2014.
