Mrs. McGill obtained a Bachelor of Science in business from Liberty University in 1992, following with a Master of Arts in education from the same school in 2013. After initial success as an instructor in the Aldine School District in Harris County, Texas, from 1993 to 1994, she excelled in publishing for over 20 years. In the capacity of managing editor of Upscale, a fashion and lifestyle magazine based in Atlanta, Mrs. McGill (and staff) received awards for soft feature reporting and editing in print from 1998 to 1999. Additionally, Mrs. McGill was awarded Teacher of the Month for outstanding instruction in language skills by Huntington Learning Center.
During the course of her career, Mrs. McGill has interviewed such celebrities as Bishop T.D. Jakes, the late Whitney Houston, Vickie Winans and Deniece Williams. Furthermore, to remain aware of developments in the field, she has maintained her affiliation with a number of organizations. To wit, Mrs. McGill is a member of the Magazine Association of Georgia (MAG), the Atlanta Association Black Journalists and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW).
In 2020, Mrs. McGill published "90 Days to Your Better Self!" An Interactive Guide to Self-discovery and Healing, a self-help book stressing self-sufficiency from a standpoint of faith. According to Mrs. McGill, her career highlights include her publishing career in newspapers and magazines, and composing her book.
