PARKER, CO, August 06, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dedrick Sims has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Since 2014, Dedrick Sims has thrived as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Sims-Fayola Foundation, which offers an array of educational and youth development programs for young men and boys of color such as career coaching, leadership training, social-emotional learning, and financial literacy. The Sims-Fayola Foundation also provides workshops to educators who work with boys of color that focus on creating learning experiences that are considerate of culture and gender. Thanks to his vast educational background, Dedrick Sims frequently serves as a consultant to school districts that are experiencing difficulties in a broad range of areas, such as leadership coaching, DEI development, or curriculum and instruction development.
Prior to his career with the Sims-Fayola Foundation, Dedrick Sims flourished as in teacher, principal, and district leadership roles in Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. He previously found success as the Chief Executive Officer of the Zen Educational Consulting Group, which provided professional development to school systems with high populations of students of color. Dedrick Sims is also the author of three published books. In 2008, he released "Hardwired by Nature: What we as Educators Underestimate about our Minority Students," which serves as a guidebook for educators who are struggling to instill confidence and discipline in minority students. His latest book, "Hey Man, We Just Talkin'," released in July of 2020, serves as a mentoring book for young men between the ages of 11 and 21.
Among many other awards in recognition of his dedication to educational equity, Black Enterprise Magazine included Dedrick Sims in their list of 100 Modern BE Men of 2018. In 2015, he was selected as a finalist for KUSA's Leader of the Year award. Dedrick Sims additionally previously excelled as the president of the board of directors for the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation and the chairman of the board for the Young Philanthropists Foundation. In addition to completing educational leadership programs at Harvard University and New York University, Dedrick has completed two graduate degrees and doctoral work in instructional design and development at the University of South Alabama.
