PITTSBURG, CA, August 09, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charlton Sharpe has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A distinguished author and educator, Mr. Sharpe is an avid advocate for prisoners' rights. Having spent the majority of his career as an instructor for both adults and elementary-aged children, he allocated his weekends to lead restorative justice practices with detained inmates. Likewise, Mr. Sharpe founded and participated in the Straight Talk on Prison (STOP) program.
Mr. Sharpe's experiences working with inmates were highly influential in his advocacy work. In 2014, he published his first novel, "The Next Election," which is largely based on his own life. In 2016, he penned the renowned book, "Inmates Voting: The Next Election." His latest book, "Talk Show: Inmates Voting a Short Story," fervently urges for reform in the American voting system and lays the groundwork for such rights to be extended to all incarcerated Americans. The novel solicits a call to action from readers to fight for the Constitutional right to vote on behalf of nonviolent offenders.
An erudite scholar, Mr. Sharpe obtained a bachelor's degree in social science from the University of California Berkeley and a master's degree in education from the University of Phoenix. He has served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and is affiliated with the Freemasons and Kappa Alpha Phi. His published works have seen him presented with numerous accolades and, for his implementation of the STOP program, he was bestowed with an award for the most innovative program with Volunteers of America. Looking toward the future, Mr. Sharpe intends to further establish himself as an author and write more books.
