In addition to his primary professional responsibilities, Mr. Salapatas served as senior faculty for the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Salapatas began his higher education at the Illinois Institute of Technology. In 1955, he completed his undergraduate education, earning a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering. Later in his career, Mr. Salapatas returned to his academic efforts at Florida International University, where he obtained a Master of Science in management in 1979.
Known for his civic contributions, Mr. Salapatas served as subcommittee chairman of a legacy Industrial Engineering Standard for the American National Standards Institute, an organization that works to enhance the global competiveness of U.S. businesses and improve the quality of life in the country. To remain aware of developments affecting his field, he has maintained affiliation with a number of professional organizations, including the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, the Project Management Institute and the American Society of Quality. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Salapatas has been a contributing author to many publications, such as "The Implementation of Project Management Handbook," "The Industrial Engineering Handbook" and "Industrial and Systems Engineering – the Fundamentals."
