Dr. Taylor has accrued over 40 years of professional experience at the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA). She began her lengthy tenure with NASA in 1973, at the Johnson Space Center where she was employed in the Human Resource Office as a personnel management specialist, and later as an employee development specialist. In the following years, Dr. Taylor transferred to NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC where she served NASA in various capacities and assumed more complex responsibilities.
Dr. Taylor initially pursued a formal education at Huston-Tillotson University, from which she obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration and education. Thereafter, she earned a master's degree in public management from the University of Houston. Dr. Taylor continued her education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, from which she graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in organizational leadership in 2013.
Aside from her primary vocational pursuits, Dr. Taylor has served as a community volunteer for various organizations. She has participated as a board member for the NASA Federal Credit Union, Black Women United for Action Inc. and the National Council of Negro Women Inc. Moreover, she has provided service to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Clearinghouse of Women's Issues. For her extensive contributions to her community, Dr. Taylor has been the recipient of various recognition and appreciation awards.
As a testament to her inimitable contributions and achievements in her field, Dr. Taylor has been lauded with numerous accolades. Over the course of her career, NASA has presented her with various awards including the Exceptional Service Medal and the Equal Opportunity Medal, amongst others.
