Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Hollenbeck earned a Bachelor of Science in geology from Michigan Geological University in 1985. Subsequently, he began his career as a supervisor for the Lansing Office of Testing Engineers from 1987 to 1988. In 1988, he became the priniciple geologist for UP Engineers & Architects where he participated in many envirological projects throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He further practice his profession until 1994 in the U.P. for TPT, Inc. Since 1994, Mr. Hollenbeck has found success as the owner of Keweenaw Environmental Consulting/EH&S Services and even including Blue Moon Abatement since 2009.
Mr. Hollenbeck is an accredited asbestos building inspector and contractor supervisor for the State of Michigan, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act. In addition, he remains affiliated with various organizations related to his career, such as the American Society for Testing and Materials and the Michigan Association of Environmental Professionals. Mr. Hollenbeck also serves as a board member for a community college and a chamber of commerce and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
Mr. Hollenbeck further flourished as a sole proprietor, entrepreneur and pioneer in the environmental industry, providing professional geology and environmental consulting services in the 1980s. He attributes his success to his upbringing and the tenacity that his mother instilled in him. In the coming years, Mr. Hollenbeck hopes to retire from his profession.
