Ms. Tanier has enjoyed a varied career in several industries over the years. After high school graduation she enrolled in Cosmetology school and excelled in the industry for over 25 years as a stylist and manager. After completing a Hypnoanalysis course in 1989 at the Infinity Institute in Royal Oak, Michigan she became a Certified Hypnotherapist and operated a Hypnotherapy practice for several years. Ms. Tanier also taught a class in self-hypnosis at the University of Michigan, with which she was twice invited to conduct group hypnosis events.
In 1997 Ms. Tanier opened her first antiques shop in the downtown area of Manchester, Michigan, where she also rented booths to other dealers. When she moved into a Victorian church in Horton, Michigan, in 1998 she lived in part of the building and created a second antiques shop named The Church Antiques in the sanctuary. She also sewed and sold original Renaissance gowns in the shop. In 2011 she decided to use her officiant ordination to open Celebrations Wedding Chapel and Event Venue.
In addition to her primary work as a Wedding Minister both at her wedding chapel and at offsite locations, Ms. Tanier also operates an online store selling t-shirts and gifts with custom-made designs, having created more than 700 designs over the years. For her work as a wedding officiant, she has been featured in several local publications. She was notably presented with the Couple's Choice Award from Wedding Wire for 10 consecutive years where she maintains a top 5 star rating and she was honored as the Planner's Choice Officiant by Eventective. Ms. Tanier maintains her affiliation with the American Association of Wedding Officiants, the International Association of Weddings and the Association of Bridal Consultants. She also receives many referrals from previous clients who are pleased with her services.
Ms. Tanier has attributed her professional success in the wedding industry to her people skills and her love of the job as well as to her beautiful chapel space. When she retires from her profession she plans on writing a book and spending more time with her family.
