Supported by years of experience and expertise, Mr. Ganfield serves as the treasurer of Steele County Historical Society. He was previously active as a teacher for six years. For 34 years, Mr. Ganfield worked in agricultural sales promotion at the Gandy Company.
Mr. Ganfield's exemplary performance in the field was born of his academic efforts, which began when he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history, social studies and English. He later attained a Master of Arts from the University of Iowa in 1971. Interested in history since coming of age, Mr. Ganfield was inspired to enter his field by his world history teacher.
Notably, Mr. Ganfield has been elected as treasurer of the local chapter of Kiwanis International. Civically engaged as well, he contributes prolifically to his church. A recipient of a Tourism Award from the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ganfield was presented with the Harris Award from Rotary International, the Book of Golden Deeds from Exchange Club and a Hickson Award from Kiwanis International. Mr. Ganfield served two years in the U.S. Army, including one year in Vietnam.
