She is the principal attorney of the Law Offices Marjorie Jaski, PA, and her practice areas include wills, trusts, and legal assistance with other end-of-life issues. As a public health professional, she worked tirelessly to develop funding and programs to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care for older adults. She was instrumental in raising awareness of medication errors and its costs to life and healthcare through spearheading the creation of the Illinois Pharmacy Foundation, the nonprofit, charitable arm of the Illinois Pharmacists Association. Ms. Jaski also served as the Project Director of the Medication Error Reduction Initiative with the American Medical Association (AMA), bringing together a coalition of influential thought leaders in U.S. healthcare to heighten awareness of costly medication errors and the need to improve professional monitoring of medication use. At the AMA, she also helped to establish the National Patient Safety Foundation, developing its mission to improve patient safety and the inaugural Conference on Medical Errors.
Ms. Jaski is the author of Substance Abuse among Older Adults, Self-Care: Preventing Misuse of Medication and Alcohol in an Aging Society and Preventing Medication-Induced Morbidity and Mortality, co-authored as a training manual for pharmacists and prevention specialists. She was the lead author of a widely-circulated medical journal article "Medication Review in the Physician Office Practice," that helped to influence greater awareness of medication errors among physicians and other healthcare professionals.
She earned her A.B. from Smith College, a Master of Public Health in Community Health Science from the University School of Public Health in Chicago, and a Juris Doctor from Stetson College of Law. She maintains her memberships with the American Public Health Association, the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Texas and the honorable societies of Delta Omega and Phi Kappa Phi.
