LODI, CA, August 13, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sierra Brucia has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Raised in a service-oriented family, Mr. Brucia was inspired to help others in his career. Graduating from his local police academy at the age of 20, he was hired by the Lodi Police Department on his 21st birthday, with which he has excelled for more than 26 years. Mr. Brucia began his career in law enforcement as a reserve police officer for two years before becoming a full-time officer.
Mr. Brucia fondly recalls his first assignment, in which he went undercover as a high school student in a school buy program. Over the course of his career, he advanced through the ranks to become a detective, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant and captain with the Lodi Police Department prior to his appointment as the chief of police in 2020. In his current position as the chief of police, Mr. Brucia manages all of the daily operations, is responsible for the vision, direction and future of the department, handles policies, procedures and new programs, and supervises more than 110 employees.
While working at the police department, Mr. Brucia obtained a Bachelor of Arts in management from Saint Mary's College of California, a Master of Arts in organizational leadership from the American Military University and a Master of Arts in education from Humphreys University. He also holds several certifications, including a management certificate from the Eberhardt School of Business at the University of the Pacific. Having additionally completed a senior management in policing program sponsored by PERF at Boston University, Mr. Brucia also graduated from the West Point leadership program at the Los Angeles Police Department.
In addition to his primary work in law enforcement, Mr. Brucia has also served as an adjunct professor at Humphreys University and a consultant for the Incident Command Program and the ROP Program with the Lodi Unified School District. For his exemplary efforts over the years, he has received several departmental accolades, such as the Silver Star Award. Throughout his career, Mr. Brucia has attributed his professional success to his serving others, personal ambition, competitiveness and curiosity and the desire to be a student of his profession.
Mr. Brucia is further active with the Lodi Library Foundation, Morada Little League, Lodi Sunrise Rotary and the Lodi Police Foundation. He is also affiliated with the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the California Police Chiefs Association and the California Police Officers Association. In the coming years, Mr. Brucia plans to retire from police work in order to travel while venturing into consulting and mentoring for the next generation of police officers.
