Having accrued five decades of inimitable expertise in his chosen field, Mr. Walton has garnered a laudable reputation as a business leader and problem solver. As the Executive Director of Kitsap Public Facilities District, he specializes in marketing, business development, economic development, and project management. Mr. Walton's daily responsibilities include overseeing all interactions with the various partners that he has financial interests in, such as handling all the finances and management of the funding for several construction projects, which goes toward development activities for new public facilities.
Before venturing onto his current vocational path, Mr. Walton sought an education in 1964 at Stanford University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Material Science. In 1974, he would complete his formal learning with a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from Florida Atlantic University. Adjacent to his main responsibilities in the field, Mr. Walton served as an engineer, manager, and director for several of the innovators and leaders in the semi-conductor chip business in Silicon Valley for over 25 years before pursuing his current career goals.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Walton volunteered on the Military Affairs Committee at the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce, Chaired the Education Committee at the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce, and also worked part-time for the local YMCA in Community Relations. As a commitment to his field, he has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the WA Economic Development Association, Kitsap Athletic Roundtable, West Sound Technology Association, and on the Board of the Kitsap County Community Development Corporation.
Mr. Walton has also been a life-long athlete, both at Stanford and in years of community sports leagues and currently competes in the Senior Games at both the State and National levels, winning hundreds of metals over more than 15 years. Mr. Walton's achievements have largely been driven by the positive attitude his parents instilled in him since coming of age, who provided tremendous role models by their contributions through many community organizations and causes.
