After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Fordham University, she earned a Master of Public Administration from New York University. From 1999 until 2007, she excelled as a regional director for the Research Foundation of the City University of New York before she was recruited as the deputy executive director for Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, where she found additional success for six years. Ms. Parker also received a certificate in business enterprise from the School of Social Enterprise at Columbia University Business School in 2012.
Two years later, Ms. Parker was appointed as the deputy executive director for JobsFirstNYC. Throughout the following three years, she thrived while developing effective strategies for increasing high quality educational and employment opportunities for disadvantaged youths. Since her advancement to her current role, Ms. Parker has designed and implemented several initiatives that have significantly furthered the organization's primary objectives while managing and mentoring her leadership team.
Alongside her remarkable career at JobsFirstNYC, Ms. Parker has also excelled as a board member for RECONNECT Brooklyn since 2013. She attributes a great deal of her success to her childhood in Jamaica, which is known for its high number of women in senior management positions. In the near future, Ms. Parker intends to dramatically expand the reach of JobsFirstNYC, with the goal of eventually serving communities all throughout the U.S.
