He has found notable success as the international managing director of ClubCorp since 2014. Moreover, Mr. Laney has excelled as the president and founder of BNG Hospitality, which consists of five private city clubs with nearly 4,000 members and an annual revenue of over $15 million.
Prior to celebrating nearly 40 years of experience in the field, Mr. Laney was raised by a father who specialized in maintaining bars and restaurants following a successful career in the United States Air Force. He became passionate about the hospitality industry while in high school, during which time he began his first job in a local club. Through his many years of experience. He began to understand many aspects of the hospitality and business industries, including budgeting, planning and strategy, design, lease negotiations and fundraising. Mr. Laney currently applies his expertise in setting a multitude of executive strategies in order to achieve widespread success.
In 1994, Mr. Laney established himself as the regional manager for ClubCorp. Prior to his current role within the organization, he was promoted to the regional vice president from 2000 to 2007 and the senior vice president of operations and hospitality from 2007 to 2013. In his current position as the managing director, he is credited with the development and execution of ClubCorp's growth strategy throughout Asia. Furthermore, Mr. Laney was responsible for the oversight of nearly 50 properties which produced over $180 million in gross revenue.
In order to remain aware advancements within the field. Mr. Laney has maintained his professional affiliations with the Club Managers Association of America and the National Clubs Association. Dedicated to the local communities for which he serves, he aims to give back as much as he can through donations to charities and collaboration with members of the local club scene. With a business mission to act as a good steward of his community, Mr. Laney is gratified to participate in as many fundraisers as possible.
