Mr. Perchik is a retired operations research analyst who spent just under 30 years in his field, beginning in Kentucky with the Armor School and later in Virginia with the HQ TRADOC and the U.S. Army Material Command. He was also an experienced executive officer and chairman of the supervisory committee credit union for the USAREUR Operations Research Systems Analysis Cell in Virginia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Perchik worked as a quality control representative in New Jersey and then as an education specialist in both New Jersey and Kentucky.
After a three-year hiatus, Mr. Perchik returned to work, becoming the owner and director of Spiritual Tours Ltd. in 2007. Based in Reston, Virginia, the business provides tour services that are spiritually based. Shortly thereafter, he became the business development manager and director of Red Carpet Tours Ltd. in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2009. Combining his passion for the highly acclaimed "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy with his new career, his professional tour guiding services take clients on various adventures to Middle Earth.
Outside of his daily routine, Mr. Perchik has lent his expertise as a national coordinator for Mensa Investment SIG since 1983. He also formerly held several other positions, including as a teacher for the Fairfax County High School System from 2004 to 2009. He was active on several professional committees as well, and was a consultant for Delta Force, Carlisle Barracks, the International Policy Institute and the World Future Society between 1982 and 2019.
Mr. Perchik authored "Automatic Data Processing Program and Repair" in 1972. He has since been writing, editing and publishing Speculation and Investments, an international newsletter, since 1983.
Involved in a plethora of civic activities, Mr. Perchik is currently a trustee for the Wakatipu Wildlife Trust since 2018, a board member for the Central Otago-Lakes Branch of the Royal Forest and Bird Society since 2014, a volunteer for his local chapter of the Cancer Society since 2018 and, among other activities, is a volunteer member of the Coastguard Queenstown since 2015. He notably served in the New Zealand Volunteer Coast Guard and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as a vice flotilla commander. Mr. Perchik is a member of the Fernhill and Sunshine Bay Community Association and the Queenstown Car Club and is a board member of the Reston Citizens Association. Among his most notable and memorable affiliations, however, Mr. Perchik volunteered with the Crisis Link Hot Line and was a teacher and rehabilitation mentor for male and female prisoners at the Fairfax County Jail and the Alexandria Virginia Detention Center.
Mr. Perchik received a Bachelor of Arts at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, in 1964 and completed postgraduate coursework at the New York Institute of Technology from 1964 to 1965. He has been a licensed pastoral counselor since 1998 and certified habitat steward since 2001.
Mr. Perchik has benefited from membership with several professional organizations. He is a member and treasurer of the National Integrative Health Congress and the Prayer Vigil for Earth and a member and secretary of the Wharf Cluster Association. Other memberships to his credit include the Institute of Management Sciences, the Operations Research Society of America and the Sustainable Water Resources Roundtable.
