A seasoned information technology and psychology professional with a proven record of success in various fields, Mr. Monette earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Georgia and began his career as an information technology director for Optech. In addition to his work with Optech, he serves as a psychotherapist with Thrive Life Counseling and as the owner of GameStation Arcades. Though it started as a hobby, Mr. Monette is proud to have found a way to combine his love of video games and his knowledge of information technology to establish a successful business.
During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Monette gained valuable expertise as a clinical mental health counselor and child and adolescent therapist with Life Counseling Center, a supervisor of adoption services for AAA Partners for Adoption, and a child and adolescent therapist for the Children's Center for Hope and Healing, where he worked with clients who experienced trauma, abuse and domestic violence. Throughout the course of his career, he also expanded upon his knowledge by earning a certification in executive management and business administration through the Harvard Business School. Likewise, he became certified as a telemental health provider, a professional counselor and a cognitive behavioral therapist, and received a Master of Science in mental health counseling through Capella University. Presently, he is also pursuing a doctorate in counselor education and supervision at his graduate alma mater.
In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, Mr. Monette affiliates himself with the American Association of Christian Counselors, the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. For his outstanding accomplishments, he was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota. Looking toward the future, Mr. Monette intends to continue reaping the fruits of his success as a psychotherapist.
