After working for Cosmetic Concept for more than 10 years, Ms. Harrianan departed from the company to assist her husband in getting his own business, RTI Shelving Systems, well established and recognized in the industry. Though the company started out with just a few clients and no other employees other than her husband and herself, it has since grown into a successful business specializing in complex custom shelving and storage projects for a wide range of clients. As the current vice president of the organization since 2001, she oversees daily business operations, including staffing and business acquisition. Since establishing the company, she and her husband have been able to cement their legacy in the industry and buy out the company for whom her husband previously worked.
Prior to founding RTI Shelving Systems, Ms. Harrianan established JMB Steel Inc. and received certificates from Cambridge University. In her spare time, she gives back to her community as a donor to various local organizations and as a sponsor for international students visiting the United States. An immigrant herself, she feels driven to pay it forward. In a career that has been filled with highlights, she is most proud of establishing RTI Shelving Systems with her husband and receiving several awards from her former employers.
Within the coming years, Ms. Harrianan intends to expand RTI Shelving Systems internationally, and notes that they have presently been doing installation work for the clothing line Zara in North America. Looking to branch Zara out to stores in Puerto Rico, Ms. Harrianan also says that famous designer Louis Vuitton has expressed interest in their shelving services.
