ORLANDO, FL, August 31, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Baker-Hargrove has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After nearly 25 incredible years working for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida, Mr. Baker-Hargrove was inspired to become involved in the nonprofit sector, through which he could seek growth and opportunities while exerting a positive impact on the community he knew so well. Joining 26Health in Orlando in 2018 as the co-founder, co-chief executive officer, and chief operations officer alongside his spouse, Dr. David Baker-Hargrave, Mr. Baker-Hargrove aspired to represent the LGBTQ+ and Ally community that they are both a part of.
Originally founded as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2011, Mr. Baker-Hargrove upholds the organization's mission in delivering an all-inclusive approach to quality health care, regardless of ability to pay. The state-of-the-art medical center also focuses its efforts on providing mental health care services, as well as a drug discount program and adoption and aesthetic services. Naming the organization 26Health, the number 26 represents all the letters of the alphabet, which represents no matter how you identify, we care for you.
Motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others, Mr. Baker-Hargrove believes this type of medical care is an important step in the future of America's health care system. Apart from his efforts in overseeing the organization, he aspires to become more involved in various speaking engagements so he can continue the conversation on health care.
As an extension of his work, he has lent his expertise as an entertainment executive producer for the Come Out with Pride entertainment committee for the central Florida LGBTQ+ community. Mr. Baker-Hargrove was also active on the leadership team of PRIDE, Disney Resource Group, served on the board of the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, and was treasurer of the Florida State Board of Directors for Mental Health.
Mr. Baker-Hargrove's career history with the Walt Disney Company included working in various positions from a performer, stage manager, choreographer and production manager from 1994 to 2012. He subsequently spent two years as a resource manager of production, followed by another year as a producer, and three years as the proprietor of entertainment operations from 2015 to 2018.
Mr. Baker-Hargrove received a Bachelor of Science in textile sciences, with a minor in business administration, at the University of Texas at Austin in 1993. He later earned a Master of Business Administration at Webster University in 2000. To celebrate his success, 26Health was nominated for an Eagle Award by the African American Chamber of Commerce. His business was also named as the Nonprofit of the Year for his contributions after the Pulse nightclub tragedy in Orlando in 2016.
