Ms. Twardawa is the successful and proud owner of Angie's Transportation, a certified woman-owned business that she established in 2012. In this capacity, she is responsible for overseeing general operations, safety, and accounting. Ms. Twardawa also oversees freight, which is comprised of approximately 90% refrigerated and 10% dry commodities, and recently began training her incredible staff members on the implementation of the new software she purchased to help operate the business more efficiently.
Additionally, Ms. Twardawa has begun focusing much of her attention on various marketing strategies to continue expanding and growing Angie's Transportation. Currently operating throughout 49 of the 50 states, customers can receive both long and short hall services, as well as warehousing sites. She offers real time updates for all freights and only employs qualified and experienced drivers. Ms. Twardawa hopes to own and operate over 100 trucks in the near future, becoming one of the biggest trucking companies in the St. Louis area.
A supportive and nurturing employer, Ms. Twardawa is always there to answer any questions her workers may have, and keenly listens to their needs. Her employees are the backbone of the transportation company, so it is important that she is attentive to them. Recently overcoming a devastating fire in 2017, Ms. Twardawa's business lost everything. From the ashes, Angie's Transportation rose to the occasion and was able to recover in just three months.
Prior to going into business for herself, Ms. Twardawa garnered experience as a dispatcher for TWA Express from 2010 to 2012 and as a clerical assistant from 2009 to 2010. She also briefly owned LA Luxury Activewear between 2015 and 2017. Locally, Ms. Twardawa has been afforded the opportunity to contribute in various capacities, and has notably donated to the Saint Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Arch, various churches and other non-profits, including Saint John the Baptist Church and the Saint Louis Food Bank.
Ms. Twardawa earned an Associate of Arts from Saint Louis Community College. Her decision to pursue a career in the field stemmed from the support of her parents, both of whom immigrated from Poland to the U.S in the 1980s. Following her father's example as a second-generation truck driver and transportation entrepreneur, Ms. Twardawa has found great respect from her peers for her extensive knowledge and expertise, despite her minority status.
To support her career, Ms. Twardawa is a member of Women in Trucking, the Missouri Trucking Association, and the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association. Angie's Transportation was recognized as one of the Fastest Growing Trucking Companies in Saint Louis and with an Award for Overcoming Diversity in 2018 by the High Jump Company/Korber. Ms. Twardawa was also listed among the Top Woman Leaders and Supply Chain Professionals.
