Driven to pursue a career in aviation since his formative years, Mr. Braun began his career as a pilot with Aloha Airlines during the late 1960s. Between 1982 and 1983, he was responsible for two 737-200 aircraft for both domestic and international operations, including maintenance for Aloha's Nigerian operations. Mr. Braun subsequently served as a pilot for The Boeing Company, 747 chief pilot for Asiana Airlines, where he worked closely with the Korean regulators, FAA and Boeing, and ProAir, where he was responsible for operational control of flight operations and purchasing aircraft.
Drawing upon his considerable expertise, Mr. Braun more recently flourished as a 747 Chief Technical Pilot for The Boeing Company, where he maintained responsibility for all of the normal and non-normal procedures for the 747 airplanes, and had other groups relating to the 737, 757 and 767 report to him. After retiring, he contributed to the Jackson Hole Airport Board as a member and president, maintaining a budget of $100 million.
An expert in his field, Mr. Braun completed aviation courses through UCLA, and maintained his professional alignment with the Airline Pilots Association for many years. In light of his expertise, he received a recognition for The Large Cargo Freighter and 747-8 through The Boeing Company. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud of certification of the same Type Rating for the 747 Large Cargo Freighter, the 747-8 and the 747-400. In the coming years, Mr. Braun aims to complete at least one more large project before he retires completely.
